Born January 25, 1907, at Blue Sulphur Springs, Greenbrier County, he was the son of the late Isaac Cornelious Hamrick (Deceased) and Effie Maye Allen-Hamrick (1881-1970) (per WV Delayed Certificate of Birth #3893, Greenbrier County, WV, Issued December 18, 1942).
Mr. Hamrick was a timberman-truck driver. He was formerly employed by E.H. Crouch Lumber Co. and retired from Island Creek Stores, Kopperston. He attended Matheny United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Hamrick-Baker (Deceased) and Ruby Hamrick-Rogers (Deceased); and four brothers, John Isaac Hamrick (1912-1992), Frank Nathan Hamrick (1910-1996), Cecil Hamrick (Deceased) and Jimmy Hamrick (Deceased).
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Edith Adkins-Hamrick; a daughter, Helen Hamrick-Cook and her husband, David, of Oceana; a brother, George Hamrick of Grassy Meadows; two sisters, Mae Hamrick-Rohrbaugh of Buckhannon and Ada Hamrick Lafon of Pasadena, MD; a sister-in-law, Ocie Adkins of Cool Ridge; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Evans Funeral Home Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. Ralph Whitten officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
