She was born May 2, 1911 in Ionia, Mich., to Paul and Louise Kress, one of 10 brothers and sisters now all deceased. She married her fellow classmate, Eldon Strong, who was killed in a truck accident in 1938. She remarried in 1946 to Thomas Sullivan. He passed away in January 1983. She is survived by her five children: Edgar (Ruth) Strong of Hart, Shurile (Richard) Meitz of Hudsonville, Joellen (Wallace) Miller of Williamsburg, Marcia Pease and (Al Medacco) of Freesoil, Thomas (Kim) Sullivan of Allendale; 17 grandchildren, including Kay (Mark) Butcher, and seven step grandchildren; several great and great, great grandchildren. She was cremated and is buried in the Washington Arlington National Cemetery next to her husband, Thomas Sullivan.
