Charles Pat Silver,age 89, of Burnsville, formerly of the Bandana Community in Bakersville, died Wednesday, January 21,2015 at the Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine.
Born, July 29, 1925 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Cleve and Mamie Buchanan Silver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Lucy Mae Silver who passed away in 1993. He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Lucian, Brown, Claude and Ray Silver, and his sisters; Kate Byrd and Revia Buchanan.
Charles was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Marion. He was also a member of the Ledger Volunteer Fire Department. He was retired from Henredon Furniture of Spruce Pine and later worked in the produce department of Whites Food Store in Spruce Pine and four years a self entrepreneur.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Mattie Lee Silver of Randleman, his son James Silver of Micaville, his daughters; Janie Robinson and husband Douglas of Marion, and Judy Stevens and husband Bobby of South Toe; his brother: Howard Silver of Bakersville; his sister Bernice Howell of Bakersville, his grandchildren, Bryan Compton, Carma Compton, Jimmy Silver, and Jeremy Silver; ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The family respectfully request the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Charles Silver on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 4:00pm at the Silver Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Dillon, and Lawrence Glenn officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receiver friends Friday evening from 6 until 8:00pm at Webb Funeral Home.
