John W. Heller Rites Pending
Services are pending at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home for John William Heller, 84, a resident at Arbor Manor Nursing Home. The retired farmer died yesterday afternoon at the nursing home.
He was born Sept. 1, 1883, at Hooper. He married the former Virgie Thomas in Fremont March 16, 1908. After marriage, the couple farmed east of Hooper until 1927 moving to a farm near Blair for two years, then to Weeping Water for two years and then to Lincoln. Two years ago Mr. Heller came to the nursing home. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include the widow, Virgie, Blair; sons, La Vere, Fremont, Vernon of Arlington, Francis and Clinton, both in California; daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Elizabeth) Bentz of Fremont, Mrs. George (Sussie) Terry in Alaska and Mrs. Donald (Geraldine) Belden of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. James Spease of Arlington; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Hooper - Services for John William Heller, who died Monday, were yesterday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Henry D. Gittler officiating. Mrs. James Dam was the organist, and Orville VonSeggern was the soloist. Mr. Heller was born at Hooper on Sept. 1, 1883. Pallbearers were LeRoy Keller, Marlin Keller, William Sick, Howard Heller, Jr., Chester Marquardt, and David Heller. Burial was at Hooper Cemetery. Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
