He was the son of William Henderson Scott and Hetty McPeak. He was married to Helena Agnes Slemp (1904-1935) and their children were, the actor, George C. Scott and Hettie Helen Scott-Hamilton. In 1941 he married Elizabeth Eileen "Betty" Hurd and they had two sons, Robert Bobby Scott and James Hurd Scott. He then married Martha E. Robinson from 1964-1967. George worked as an executive at Buick.
