LODI - Lester "Shorty" Brimmer, age 96, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 2, 2004. He was born on March 12, 1908, in Reedsburg, the son of Frank and Lenora (Johnson) Brimmer. Lester worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for 30 years. On Feb. 2, 1937, he was united in marriage to Loretta Fitzgerald. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2003.

He is survived by five children; a son-in-law; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Spencer and Hildred (Norman) Neumaier; and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; a daughter, JoAnn Millard; and a great-grandson, Skylar Grothe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2004, at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH, Lodi, with the Rev. Nicholas S. Okere officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
