Excerpt -- Rowlesburg -- Walter H. Bolyard, 68, of here, died Sunday in Preston Memorial Hospital, Kingwood, where he had been a patient following a heart attack in his home on June 1. Born Oct. 3, 1893, near Rowlesburg, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Lillie M. (Bishop) Bolyard. He was a retired postmaster of Manheim, W.Va., and also owned a store there. Until his death he was a climatological observer, an appointment he received from the United States Weather Bureau July 1, 1926. He was a member of Christ Methodist Church, a veteran of WW I and a member of Cannon Hill Post 3008, VFW. He is survived by his widow, Maude C. (Felton) Bolyard; a son, Charles A. Bolyard of Morgantown; four grandchildren; two brothers, Carroll P. Bolyard of Erwin, Ark., and Arthur Bolyard of Conway, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Nora Sanders of Bowling Green, Mrs. Maude Judy of Clarksburg, W.Va., Mrs. Muriel Knotts of Rowlesburg, W.Va., and Mrs. Eva Miller of Baltimore. Services were held for Mr. Bolyard yesterday at Rowlesburg.
