John Riley Cummins, Jr. (lawnmower man) of Torrance passed away February 20th. He was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on July 17, 1918 and had lived in Torrance and Lomita for about 80 years. He was a long time member of Torrance First Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher and Deacon in the past. John was in the Navy in WWII and then worked at Naval Shipyards until he retired to the tennis court and the lawn mower repair business. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; 3 loving sons, Ken and his wife, Deborah of San Clemente; Michael and his wife, Marsha of Torrance; Roger and his wife, Margarita of Rolling Hills Est. as well as 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1pm on Tuesday 24th at Torrance First Baptist Church with visitation Monday 4pm to 8pm at Green Hills Mortuary.
