Luella Maurine "Deanie" Alexander, 87, of Pilot Point died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Pilot Point Care Center.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Clement-Keel Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Royce Denton and Rev. Milton Pledger offciating. Burial was at New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were her nephews.

Mrs. Alexander was born on Oct. 26, 1921, in the Mt. Springs Community to Oran and Eula (King) McMillin. She married A.L. "Pete" Alexander in Marietta, Okla., on Oct. 23, 1941. They were life-long residents of the Pilot Point and Mt. Springs areas. She was a homemaker, seamstress and caregiver and a life-long member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Peggy and Pete Hollar of Pilot Point and Janie and Drew Scott of Santa Fe, N.M.; and her grandchildren and their families, Susan Alvord and Jon Capps and Alison, Blake, Cameryn and Colby of Keller; Cheryl and David Luther and Hope and Tripp of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Greg and Maddi Hollar and Eva Luella and Anna of Denton; Amie and Michael Searcy and Isabella, Max and Elliott of Norman, Okla.; and Andrew and Jenny Scott and Maggie of Allen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pete in 1994; a son, Lloyd Neal, in 1942; and a granddaughter, Allie, in 2004.
