Paul Lewis Anderson, 87, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heritage Baptist Church, 400 Davidson, Benbrook. Interment: Benbrook Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Services were entrusted to family friends Kate Moore and Terry Branson through North Dallas Funeral Home.
He was born Nov. 11, 1921, in Lorenzo to William and Cora Anderson. He served in the Army during World War II. Paul and his wife, Shirlie, were longtime Benbrook residents, where they were active in Benbrook Lions Club and Lakeside Church of Christ. Paul retired from Volkswagen, where he was a materials manager.
Paul was an avid gardener and 42 player, having played in and winning many tournaments all around the Fort Worth area. He was active in Texas high school football until his health prevented his attendance at the Friday night games.
Paul was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Shirlie; son, Michael; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors: Children, Karen Harper and husband, Mark, Wesley Anderson and wife, Dianna, Randal Anderson and wife, Cindy, Stephen Anderson and Patrick Anderson and wife, Nora; daughter-in-law, Ronna Anderson; sister, Sarah Bentley; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
