James Tompkins Arnold age 81 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Asbury Place. He was a Pilot in the United States Air Force and retired as a Major. He was a mechanical engineer who worked in the aerospace industry and retired from Honeywell in Clearwater, FL. James was a substitute teacher in the Math Department for 18 years at Heritage High School. Preceded in death by: Parents, Fred & Mamie Arnold. Survivors include: Wife, Marjorie Arnold; Daughters, Linda Arnold and Janet Holmes & husband Chester; Brother, David Arnold; Sister, Ann Graham; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Smith East Chapel with Rev. Melody Kidd officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Asbury Place Prayer Garden, 2648 Sevierville Road, Maryville, TN 37804. Smith Funeral Home, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
