Anton Gryskiewicz was born on Sept. 24, 1930 in rural Stephen, MN, the son of Andrew and Frances (Kostrzewski) Gryskiewicz. He was a life long resident of the Stephen and Argyle communities.
On Oct. 27, 1949, he married Rose Ann Kuznia. They made their home in Wanger Township -rural Stephen- where they farmed. He retired from farming in 1970 and did construction work until 1979. Rose Ann died on Nov. 3, 1971. Anton married Bernice Anderson on Nov. 23, 1972. They made their home in Argyle. Bernice died on Jan. 22, 1995.
Tony loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting,woodworking and especially gardening and canning.
Left to mourn his passing are his children, M. R. (M.) Hjeldness of Thompson, ND, D. (T.) Moe of Bottineau, ND, T. (S.) Gryskiewicz of Warren, MN, D. Bjerke of Mayville, ND and F. (K.) Hunter of Elbow Lake, MN; stepchildren, D. (B.) A. of Bismarck, ND, D. (L.) A. of West Fargo, ND and J. (H.) M. of Argyle, MN; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, sisters, E. (A.) Dolney of Greenbush, MN and L. (F.) Vasek of Warren, MN, sister-in-law, M.A. Schires of Badger, MN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Rose Ann and Bernice; sons, Joseph and Anthony and brothers, Roman, George (Marian) and Frank (Emily).
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:00 AM on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN. VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN and one hour before services at the church on Thursday. INTERMENT: St. Stephen Cemetery, Stephen, MN.
