Edith M. (Stowell) Bowman, 94, of Westport, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late John T. Bowman.

Born and raised in Westport, daughter of the late Frederick E. and Margaret E. (Donald) Stowell, she was a lifelong resident of the town. She was a member of the Pacific Union Congregational Church, Westport. Mrs. Bowman enjoyed knitting and gardening but her most cherished times, were those spent with her family.


Survivors include her daughter: Betty Michaels and her husband Dan of Westport; 2 sisters: Helen Reed of Westport and Winifred Williams of NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Margaret Bowman and John E. Bowman and sister of the late Phyllis Tripp.


Funeral services are private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Mrs. Bowman may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
