Mrs. Kathleen Johns Weiss, 77, passed away late Tuesday evening, October 19, 2004, at the Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick.

A native of Brantley County, she had lived in Missouri for several years before making Matagorda, Texas her home. She was a retired nurse and had worked as the office manager for Dr. Richard Butsch in St. Louis for twenty-six years. She was a member of the School Board and was also a member of the Nahunta United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late Everett & Carrie Crews Johns and was also preceded in death by her husband, Gus Weiss, all four of her sisters and by three brothers.

Survivors are three sons and a daughter-n-law, Carl & Sherry Dennis of Hidden Valley Lake, CA, Danny Dennis of the Far East and Bruce David Dennis of South America; two brothers, Carlys Johns of Waycross and Jerry Lesse Johns of Cullman, AL; 5 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Weiss will be held Sunday, October 24, 2004, at 2:00 o'clock from the Pearson-Treadwell Chapel.

Officiating will be Rev. James Dirst.

Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Weiss will be held Saturday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
