George Chappell, one of Wayne county's early settlers and for many years a prominent Wayne county citizen, died at his home in Lyman on New Years day. Pneumonia was the immediate cause of his death although he had been ailing for a long time. He is survived by his widow and the following children: George Jr., William, Charles, Lee, Pratt and Dell Chappell all of Lyman and Edward Chappell of Vermilion.

Funeral services were held for Mr. Chappell Saturday in the Lyman ward chapel.

Son of George Armstrong Chappell Sr. and Anna Marie Dunstan. George's father died before he was born and is buried in Milcreek, Salt Lake County, Utah.

Children: George Alvin, William Lamont, Mary Leerolen, Thomas edwin, Margaret Myra, Aurilla, Charles Sperry, Harrison Pratt, Leslie Bird, Lee Ron, and Dell Wayne.
