Harriet Woolf Balls, 95, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2005, of causes incident to age. She was born August 15, 1909, in Hyde Park, Cache County, UT, a daughter of Catherine Nyman and Archibald Woolf. She was raised in Hyde Park.

She married Arden C. Balls December 29, 1927, in Ogden, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on April 1, 1963. Arden died April 22, 1975.

She has always been an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in civic club work and also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

In 1983 Harriet was honored by being chosen Mother of the Year by the Ladies Community Club and Civic Club. Harriet enjoyed being a homemaker, canning fruits, vegetables, meat and fish. She also enjoyed sewing, dressmaking and doing arts and crafts. She loved playing cards for years with her friends and family. She enjoyed going camping with her husband and friends in their trailers after Arden retired.

After becoming a widow, she did a lot of traveling with her other widowed friends.

She is survived by three daughters: Renee (Earl, deceased) Olsen, Barbara (Dwight) Holman, both of Brigham City; Margene (Bud) Siegfried, of Bountiful. She has ten grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. Harriet was also preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arden Jodie Balls; a son who died at the age of eight; her two brothers and her three sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Humanitarian Aid of the LDS Church.
