OAKLAND – Clara G. Durr, 91, Oakland, died Saturday, Sept 4, 2004, at the Cherry Hill Assisted Care Home, Accident.

Born on Sept. 17, 1912, in Tucker County, she was the daughter of the late Oliver M. and Anna E. (Moreland) Lipscomb. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willis J. Durr in 1986; by four brothers, Alvin Lipscomb, Earl Lipscomb, Luther Lipscomb, and Howard Lipscomb; by two sisters, Dorothy Miller and Easter Lipscomb; and one grandson, Tony Williams.

She was a member of the Gortner Union Church, Oakland. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by three daughters, Twila Williams, Bittinger, Betty Elliott and husband Delbert, Oakland, and Mabel Hauser, Adrian, Mich.; two sons, Leonard Durr, Lima, Ohio, Burton Durr and wife Charlatte, New Comerstown, Ohio; one stepson, Donald Moats and wife Bertha, Farmington, N.M.; one sister, Merle Adams, Thomas, W.Va.; one brother, Bryce Lipscomb, Barberton, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home from, Oakland, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Funeral services will be held at the Gortner Union Church, on Tuesday, Sept 7, 2004, at 11 a.m. with the Rev Steve Sauder officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
