Married Jeremiah Bray on or about March 4, 1843 in Morgan County, Indiana. Migrated to the Pleasant Plain, Jefferson County, Iowa area with her husband.
Mother of Sarah Jane Bray, Calvin Bray, Martha Ann Bray, Sanford Bray, and Sylvester Bray.
All of these children grew to adulthood and had families, except for son Sylvester. He was born on or about February 8, 1853 and died as an infant about September 20, 1853 - about a month after the death of his mother Emma Hadley Bray. His burial location is not recorded, but possibly in the same plot as that of his mother, but in an unmarked grave.
Emma died at about the age of 30, and was buried here at Friends Cemetery, Richland, Iowa where a number of Hadley surname burials are also located (part of a major Quaker migration and settlement).
Note: the location of Emma's burial was originally noted in the Jefferson County cemetery transcription records as being "unknown". This contributor (distantly connected) found an entry for Emma in the Keokuk County cemetery transcription records for this cemetery, and using those records was able to locate the headstone. It is now extremely weather worn, and identification was made by matching the recorded age at death as being "30 yrs 3 mos 18 das". Only the "30" remains identifiable much today, but it is clearly within the plot location given for the burial of Emma Hadley Bray.
Husband Jeremiah Bray remarried in 1855 to Temperance/Tempy Greeson and they had children together. Jeremiah Bray and Tempy Bray are buried at Howard Grove Cemetery in Jefferson County, Iowa.
