Pauline was born in Galicia, Austria- Hungry, which later became part of Poland. Pauline was the daughter of Johannes Motycka and Anastasia Fedynzak. She arrived in port of NY, NY on 29 Oct 1912, aboard the Kaiser Wilhelm II, at age 13. She resided in Elizabeth for several years, then moved to Passaic to work in one of the many mills in the area at that time. Pauline married Paul in 1920 and they opened a candy store on Columbia Ave , until late 1932, when the family moved to Clifton. She and her husband Paul were the owners of Paul's Tavern / The LaSalle Tap Room in Clifton for many years.
