Age 64, died on Monday, January 26, 2009 at University of Michigan Hospital with his wife of 38 .5 years, two children, and brother Tom by his side. Terry was born November 8, 1944 in Riverside, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents Eric and Helyn de Jonckheere. He is survived by his wife Peggy of Ann Arbor, son Ryan and daughter Erin both of Arlington, VA, a sister Diane, brothers Tom and Richard, and several nieces and nephews. Upon graduation from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY, in 1966, he was commissioned as 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army, where he achieved the rank of Captain and served in the Vietnam War. Terry obtained graduate degrees from California Institute of Technology and George Washington University before resigning his commission in 1972 to take a job with Ford Motor Company. He spent 30 years with Ford starting as an engineer, raising to and retiring as a Divisional Vice President in 2002. He enjoyed his retirement with summers in Michigan and winters at their home in Florida; playing golf and being with his friends and family. A memorial gathering is to be held on Sunday, February 1 at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. 4th Ave, Ann Arbor, from 2-5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 2, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 2250 E.
