Aunt Jo Smith Succumbs To Heart Failure Tuesday
Aunt Jo Smith, resident of Loraine for 33 years, succumbed to heart failure Tuesday afternoon at 4:30. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 P. M. at the Baptist Church with Rev. M. H. Godfrey officiating.
Burial was in the Union Chapel Cemetary under the direction of G. W. Hendrick Funeral Home.
Aunt Jo Smith was born April 10, 1863 as Cloah E. Cook. She moved with her parent to Texas, when, a small child settling in Eastland county. It was here she was married to Joseph M. Smith and moved to Loraine in 1907 where Mr. Smith preceded her in death in March 31, 1915.
She is survived by four children who are: Oscar, of Paducah, Amos of Cross Plains, Andrew of Houston and Mrs. Lilly Stephens of Jefferson, Texas.
