Chester H. Plourde, age 87, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, died January 22, 2005 at Manor Health Care Services in Kingsford, MI.

He was born on November 7, 1917 in Norway, the son of the late Frank Plourde and Clara (Chartier) Plourde.

Chester served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during WWII.

Chester Plourde married Ruby Headrick on December 11, 1945 in St. Louis, MO., and she preceded him in death on January 18, 1985.

Chester was a member of American Martyrs Church in Kingsford, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council #6420 in Scott City, MO. He worked in sales for Sunny Hill Dairy, Omar Bakeries in Cape Girdeau, MO. He retired in 1985 and returned to this area.

He was survived by a stepson Clyde Greene of Cape Girdeau, MO.; grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nephews Bill (Delores) McCarthy of Livonia, Tom (Charlene) McCarthy of Norway; niece Betty (Mike) Crivello of Milwaukee, WI.

Chester was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Dolores Greene, brothers Melvin Plourde and Leon Adams, sisters Lona Peterson, Pearl Beck, Bonnie McCarthy, Lillian Girard, Melvina Adams, and Verna Corbeil.
