Bernice M. Dean, 80, of 200 E. First St., Stanton, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at Metron of Greenville.

She was born April 8, 1922, in Saranac, the daughter of Russell and Lila Batey Wells.

she married Rollo C. Dean on July 3, 1946, in Bryan, Ohio. Mrs. Dean was a longtime resident of the Sheridan and Stanton areas.

She was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Lake, in 1992.

She is survived by her husband, Rollo C. Dean; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Herb Olson of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brother-in-law, Betty Adams of Lansing, Ilene Lake of Ionia, Joyce and Bob Utter of Fenwick, Bonnie and Jessie Cross of Clarksville; four brothers and sister-in-law, Vernon and Ruth Wells of Ionia, Roy and Crystal Wells, all of Saranac, Norm and Donna McKellups of Ionia.

Funeral services were held at Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan, with Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment in Lakesdie Cemetery, Lake Odessa.
