Samuel Todd, born 19 Nov 1752 in Plymouth, Connecticut, was the son of Reverend Samuel Todd (1717-1789) and Mercy Evans (1717-). He married Mary Dudley, born 1759, daughter of Capt. John Dudley and Lois Brockett, in 1779.

In the June 9, 1933 issue of the Catskill Mountain News, there is an article regarding the plans being made for a suitable memorial for Samuel H. Todd. He was the only known soldier of the Revolutionary War to be buried in the Clovesville Cemetery.

His age was more likely 99. First, he was shown as 97 on the 1850 Census. Second, John Edwards Todd gives his birth as Nov. 19, 1752 in his book "The Todd Family in America or The Descendants of Christopher Todd 1637-1919".
