Mr. Cowart died Sunday at 3 p.m. at his home, 2410 N. Henderson St. Dallas, after a long illness.
Mr. Cowart was born March 9, 1881 in San Saba county. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and a member of the First Christian church here. He lived in Marshall for a number of years and during that time was associated with the State Livestock commission. Prior to his illness Mr. Cowart was employed by the Western Auto Associate stores in Dallas.
Mr. Cowart is survived by; his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Cowart; four sons, E. T. Cowart, Rusk; Jess Cowart, Dallas; four daughters, Mrs. W. R. Sellers, Marshall; Mrs. Fred Bailles, Glendale, Calif; Mrs. S. C. Sellers, Port Arthur; Mrs. K. K. Hickman, Cross Timbers, Mo; two brothers; Dr. R. W. Cowart, Dallas; Charlie Cowart, Lockett, Tex; two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Locker, San Saba, Tex; Mrs. Jewel Christmas, San Saba; and 11 grandchildren.
