OBITUARY :
WILLIAM MARTIN SHOCKEY, 75, of Roanoke, a longtime Denton County resident, died Saturday at 1:30 a.m. after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at the Foust Funeral Home in Grapevine today at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery near Bartonville.

Mr. Shockey was born in Lafayette, Ill., Nov. 23, 1884. He moved with his family to Denton County at the age of four, and married Amanda Medford at Lonesome Dove on July 21 1904.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Carl Shockey, Orville Shockey and Raymond Shockey, all of Fort Worth, Garland Shockey of Roanoke and Buster Shockey of Ponder; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Morsan of Grapevine and Mrs. Ray L. Cunningham of Denton; three brothers, Jim Shockey of Roanoke, Isaac Shockey of Fort Worth and Earl Shockey of Grapevlne: five sisters, Mrs. Mary Lansford of Bowie, Mrs. R. P. Churchman of Denton, and Mrs. Ethel Hoffman, Mrs. Pearl Cunningham and Mrs. Maude Rhodes, all of Fort Worth; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
