Mrs. Lucile Fannie Christie, 51, died at 2 p.m. August 20 following a heart attack. Funeral Service were held at the Macedonia Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hugh Lee Brinkley and Rev. Rooks and Rev. VanLandingham officiating. Burial followed in the Macedonia Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Norman Tyson, Elvin Barfield, Buddy Connell, Hugh Rackley, Carl Bryant, and Lonnie Shores.
Mrs. Christie was born in this county on Jan. 2, 1910, daughter of Walter Banks. She had lived in this county all her life and was a member of the Reno Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, A. F. Christie; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Rogers, Cairo; father, Mr. Walter Banks, Pelham; two brothers, Joel Banks of Pelham and H. J. Banks of Bainbridge and two sisters, Mrs. Jess Beckwith, Atlanta, and Mrs. Oscar Rudd of Hopewell. Arrangements were in charge of the Miller Funeral Home.
