According to family papers, his nickname was The Swede. He married Mary Jane Griffin on 18 Jul 1878 in Thomas Co., Georgia. He died of nephritis and the informant for his death certificate was his son Byron Richardson.

1. Viola Richardson b. 19 Jun 1882 in Georgia d. bef 1900
2. Walter B Richardson b. 29 Jun 1886 in Florida d. 1898-1899 (at age 12 years)
