Jennie Craig Johnston Reid was born in Johnston Clayworks, Otho Twnshp, Webster Co.,Iowa to William D. Johnston and Maria (Mariah, Mary) Hunter. She married Robert Reid in Otho. He died in 1927 and she came to Oregon sometime after the 1940 census, where she died July 17,1959. Her obituary appeared in The Oregonian July 19, 1959 pg. 30. She was buried in Sunset Hills Memorial Park, in Portland, OR. Her brother, John F. Johnston (1884-1976), and her 4 children, Yula Reid (1911-1977), Gayle Reid Marco (1917-1988), Marie E Reid Jeffers (1907-1981), and John Johnston Reid (1909-1976) also came to Oregon. All of her children are buried in the Sunset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
