John W. Lamb died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Hemer, Friday morning at 7:35 of brights disease. His sickness lasted only a few weeks but he bore his suffering uncomplainingly, always patient. All that loving hands could do was done but to no avail. He was ready and willing to go home to the Master. He said"it was all for the best and he hoped to meet the loved ones in heaven". He was a kind and loving father and husband, respected and loved by all. His kind and quiet disposition made him many friends among those who knew him.
John W.Lamb was born in Macon county, Feb. 18, 1852. Died Nov. 26, 1915, aged 63 years, 9 months and 8 days. He was married Dec. 16th, 1874 to Mary E. Ruark. To this union were born four children, two sons, Oliver J and Guy R. Lamb and two daughters, Mrs. Henry Hemer and Jennie E. Lamb who died Dec. 1, 1896.
The funeral was held at the home of his daughter Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28th at 2:15. Rev. Woodhull officiating. Burial was at Long Grove cemetery.
