Robert J. Clabeaux, 80, of 464 Shirley Ave., a retired Buffalo policeman, died last evening at the Brothers of Mercy Home, Clarence He had been ill more than a year.
Mr. Clabeaux was born in Buffalo and attended St. Mary's School. He was appointed to the force Oct. 1 1908 and served at the Washington Station and in the Traffic Division
until he retired July 31, 1946.
He was a member and former president of the Buffalo Police Mutual Aid & Benefit Association, a member of the Erie Club and the Holy Name Society of St.Aloysius Gonzaga Church. His wife the former Mary Flynn died April 20, 1934.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Margaret Clabeaux; two sons, Robert E. and Vincent G. Clabeaux; a sister, Mrs. Louise Frost; a brother Frank A. Clabeaux and three grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 8:30a.m. Tuesday at the home and a Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 o'clock at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Pine Hill.
