Robert was born in Wisconsin to Wilhelm F Vielbaum and Berta Gertner. His parents came from Germany and arrived in Wisconsin. Everyone called Robert "Bob". He met Frankie Crockett and they had one daughter. His daughter Beula is only child he had.

Beula was Bob's frst child. He was 57 years old. He really enjoyed her. He took over all her care and was good at it. Bob's parents came from Germany. He told me that in Germany, his last name spelled with a "B"-Bielbaum. He also told me he ran away from home when he was 17 years old and went to North Prairie, Montana. There he worked for Chelsea Jones. Bob was a good cook, one of the best. He put meals on the table that were like eating at a king's table. Bob loved animals. Many a time I saw him make himself a plate and take it out to a stray dog and then go without eating until after everyone else had eaten.
His love for animals cost him a lot of pain. He was out on the desert one day in his car and trailer after a load of wood. When he got out of the car there was Brahma bull lying by a tree. He walked over and petted it. When he turned his back it jumped up and knocked him down and would have killed him but he crawled under his car until it went away. He was hurt in the chest and was never well again.
Bob had a horse that loved him more than his parents when he was a little boy and so he trusted and loved animals.
