In 1850 he married Mary Wilt b. Apr. 3,1829. d. Dec. 11, 1905. They resided in the Gaysport area, Blair Co. PA

SAMUEL K. SHAW died of general debility, at 2:45 this morning at his home, 1602 Fifth avenue. He was born in Blair township, April 30, 1829, and located in this city 25 years ago, being a well known harness maker here until recently retired.
When a young man he was confirmed in the Lutheran church, but of late years had attended the Brethren church.
His wife died seven years ago. He is survived by these children:
James C. of Portage;
John W., of Hopewell;
S. Lincoln of Ridgely, Md.;
Mrs. W.E. Burket of Pittsburgh;
W. Scott,
Mrs. Charles B. Baumgardner and
Miss Margaret of Altoona.
Also by one brother, John, of Newry, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Robinson of Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 Saturday afternoon, by Rev. Wilt. Interment in Carson Valley cemetery. Friends may view the body from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday.
