*Note: William and his family lived in the Whitewater section of Oconee County. Several of their children eventually moved to Pickens County after they married. William and Lecina were living with their son, Joe when they passed away; taken from their obituaries.

**NOTE: I will note here that the headstone of William's father, Elias Franklin Albertson, has an error on his birth year. The correct date is 8 Apr 1835. There are positively no records indicating an Elias, Junior. In the 1900 Census from Chatooga Twp. in Oconee County, Elias states that he was born in April of 1835. In the 1910 Census from Chatooga, his second wife Ruth Arminda states she is a widow. This means that he died between 1900 and 1910. Ruth is interred in Rocky Knoll Cemetery, Elias is not. For whatever reason, the stone mason put 1855 instead of 1835. Also, records indicate that Emily's headstone has an error of her birth year. It is probably 1836 or 1837.
UPDATE: I found the obituary for Elias dated August 4, 1909. It states that he was 71 years old at the time of death in Oconee County. Records indicate he was 74 but could be wrong or family members got his age wrong. They really didn't celebrate birthdays back in those days. If it were an Elias, Jr. the obituary would state he was 51 years old. This verifies that it is Elias Franklin Albertson interred in this grave. I also believe the funeral was at Double Springs Church which is very close to Mountain Rest and internment was at Bethleham Cemetery. Major S. (probably Samuel, after his grandfather) Albertson shown in 1860 and 1870 census records is not an Elias, Jr. either. GAC
