Clarke, a prominent Alton educator. Nathan attended Knox college at Galesburg. Married Sally Lawrence at Boston, Mass., on Aug. 31, 1907.
Nathan was first employed in the Illinois National Bank and later entered the investment and real estate business. He was an extensive land owner and maintained a summer residence at a farm near Elkhart.
