He was a salesman with Sisler Ford and more recently was with Buckeye Protective Service. He had lived most of his life in Canton. Mr. Elder was born May 3, 1912, a son of Eli and Eva Elder, and had been a partner in the Trinity Chevrolet dealership in Youngstown from 1952 to 1964. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He leaves his wife, the former Jean Firestone, whom he married Dec. 10, 1936; a son, Richard F. of Royal Oaks, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Diane Morris of Louisville, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Weaver of ElPaso, Texas; and four grandchildren.
