TOMMIE N. BLACK

Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at First Baptist Church for Tommie N. Black, who died Nov. 2 at his home in Davis. The Revs. Lonny Lee and Finis Steelman officiated. Interment was at Green Hill Cemetery with arrangements by Fox Funeral Home.

Black was born Nov. 3, 1929, at Dougherty to N.W. "Fritz" and Janie (Parrish) Black. He had lived in this area most of his life. He married Stella Landrum on Aug. 31, 1948, in Lawton. He was in supervision for building and maintenance for the Davis Public School for 25 years. The Davis Public School Cafeteria was named in his honor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Baptist Brotherhood, the Murray County Sheriff Reserve and the Davis Police Reserve. He was an honorary Chapter Farmer in the Davis FFA.

Survivors are his wife of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Larry Sanders of Craig, Colo.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kristy Black of Davis; a sister, Opal Dodson of Davis; grandchildren, Jeremy and Carlene Sanders of Craig, Sarah and Brent Peed of Craig and Chelsea Black of Davis, and three great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Joshua and Whitney Wilde of Craig.

Pallbearers were Jerry Raper, Joe Weber, Jack Kapella, Don Cowley, Douglas Cowley and Charley Rogers. Honorary pallbearers were Sammie Jones, Bobby Del Hefley, John Montgomery, Linda Besett, Barbara Johnson and David Tobey.
