William M. Seay was the 5th of 10 children born to Ruben Seay & Emeline Lewis Seay of Spartanburg, SC. They moved to Greene County, TN around 1840.
William M. & his wife Hannah Nancy Matilda Ellison Seay (from NC) married in Greene County in 1861, had 11 children:
