He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Hanover. He was founder, First Chief and lifetime member of Hanover Courthouse Vol. Fire Company (Co. 5) where he served as Chief for a number of years. He was a past member of Metropolitan #11 and a member of Ashland Lodge #168, and a Past Patron of Hanover Chapter #130, order of the Eastern Star, and a founding member of the Hanover Courthouse Ruritan.
The family will receive friends in the Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where Masonic Rites and an Eastern Star service will be held in the evening, and where funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, Feb. 20 with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bowling Green.
