Melba Elizabeth Bennett Kight, 85, of Norcross, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at Hospice Atlanta, with her children, family and members of her church at her bedside. The daughter of Grace Elizabeth McDaniel Bennett and Bankston Alpha Bennett. she was born September 9, 1918 in Millwood, Georgia. She was married in 1939 to Robert Lexon Kight, Jr., who served in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of World War II. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Kight leaves three children, Bennett Lexon Kight of Atlanta; Bonnie Kight Focke of Norcross; and Linda Kight Allen of Atlanta; two grandsons, Robert Lexon Kight III of Atlanta; and Michael Guy Focke of Houston; and a great-grandchild, Melissa Aleene Kight. A Memorial service was held Friday, December 19, 2003, at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Bennett Cemetery in Millwood, Georgia, with graveside services to be announced.
