Funeral services for Tom Kitchens, 80, of Poynor, were held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 12, in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Revs. J.A. Griffin and Fred Neal officiating.
Burial was in the Fincastle Cemetery near Poynor.
Mr. Kitchens died Thursday, July 11, in a Tyler hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born July 26, 1910, in Fincastle and lived most of his life in the Poynor area. He was a retired oil field worker, served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Poynor Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Kitchens of Tyler; a brother, Aaron Kitchens of Athens; a sister Mrs. Lula Pagitt of Frankston; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers includeed Lloyd Grayson, Charlie Pagitt, Eugene Dickerson, Jimmy L. Dickerson, Dan Hunter and Tommy Robinson.
