Marie B. Yuill, 84, of 209 N. Park Ave., died at 10:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, in her home. She leukemia and had been ill several months.

Born near Dunnington on Dec. 8, 1911, she attended St. Mary's Grade School Marie Yuill and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1929.

She married John A. Yuill on April 17, 1933 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dunnington. He died April 24, 1969.

Mrs. Yuill worked for Dr. R.F. Smith in the 1930s. She and her husband started the Yuill Funeral Home in Boswell now Yuill-Shoemaker Yuill-Shoemaker which they owned and operated from August 1945 until his death. She moved to Fowler in August 1969.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler, Sacred Heart Missions Sewing Group, Bible Sharing, Queen of Peace Prayer Group, a member and president of the St. Ann Society, secretary of Ladies of Charity for many years and an active member of Fowler Senior Citizens Friday Night Club, St Theresa Study Club, Saturday Night Card Club and Monday Night Card Club. Mrs. Yuill visited residents in the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Fowler performing small tasks for them. She was an avid quilter and quilt maker.

Surviving are three sons, John H. Yuill of Fort Worth, Texas, and Joe Yuill and Dave Yuill, both of Lafayette; three daughters, daughters, Mrs. Tom (Pat) McMahan of Arden, N.C., Juanita Yuill of Anderson Anderson and Mrs. John (Judy) Brewster of San Jose, California; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Cooley of Earl Park, Mrs. Cecelia Brost of rural Ambia and Mrs. Catherine Klemme of Fowler and six brothers, Wilfred Puetz of Kentland, Ray Puetz of Sedona, Arizona, Father Richard Puetz of Delphi, George Puetz of Lafayette, Ed Puetz of Oxford and Alban Pitts of rural Ambia.
