Johnnie was the oldest child of Euphratus & Mary Lakin Clark, born in the Rankin Community in a log cabin.

According to family members as he lay in pain and weak from his suffering for a very long time due to a unknown stomach disease. He was singing "I am Bound for the Promised Land." as he passed away.

He was the first person on record buried in this cemetery.
