He was the son of Strother Jefferson & Elizabeth Lee Massie McGinnis. He married Martha Jane Cahall on July 5, 1854 in Warren Co., MO. She died on March 18, 1867, in Warren Co., MO. The location of her burial site is not known. They were the parents of Amy Temple McGinnis Looker and John Henry McGinnis.

I obtained a court order and got his records from the hospital and found that he had cancer of the face and had only been at the hospital for a week before he died. According to his records, he was buried in the hospital cemetery, but I do not know the location of the grave in the cemetery.
