Johnnie is preceded by 8 siblings, survived by her sister Jeannie Christie and brothers James and Dee Sumter; her son and daughter-in-law Charles and Ruth Wheeler; her stepson Kermit Tanzey; four granddaughters; Elizabeth Mann, Tina Crume, Kathleen Smart and Ruth Ann Wheeler; three grand sons-in-law: Kevin Mann, Rick Crume, and Wade Smart; seven great Grandchildren and one, great-great-granddaughter.
Johnnie was a vivacious woman who brought warmth and light to anywhere she went. As a devout Christian woman she read God's word faithfully and shared God's Truth with everyone she met. She enjoyed scrap booking, reading, journaling and visits with her family. Johnnie will remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to call her sister, mother, grandma, and friend. Her family is comforted in the knowledge that she has gone home to be with her husband, parents, twin sister, and other siblings. Heaven will embrace her with open arms. Her ashes will rest at the White Rose Cemetery in Bartlesville with her husband Bill Tanzey.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday February 17, 2009 in the White Rose Cemetery with Rev. Ross Atkins of Bartlesville Church of God officiating. Memorial services and interment will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
