He was a U. S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He worked for C. A. Stewart Dairy for many years, Chris's Texaco and Chick Boyd's Service Station in Angie, LA. He was a member of Southern Baptist Church of Varnado, LA. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by: His loving Wife of 56 years, Jean Hollingsworth Stogner of Bogalusa, LA;
3 Daughters, Rhonda (Don) Stilen of Bogalusa, LA, Sondra (Councilman Randy) Hodges of Bogalusa, LA and Donice (Elmo) Miller of Varnado, LA;
3 Sons, Councilman Danny (Anita) Stogner, Joe (Sheila) Stogner and Tim Stogner all of Bogalusa, LA;
1 Brother, John (Lisa) Stogner of Port Neches, TX;
A Special Sister-In-Law, Abertine Walker;
A Special Friend, Annette Williams;
He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by: His Parents, Jimmy and Bertha Smith Stogner; 4 Sisters, Jeanette Young, Mattie Young, Mary Davis and Shirley Lott; 2 Brothers, Walter Stogner and Ervin Stogner; 2 Grandsons, Scott Hodges and Andy Hobgood.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home at 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008.
Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel at 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 2:00 P.M. with Elder Billy Ray Hines to officiate and Interment to follow at Seal Cemetery with Military Graveside Services by the Magic City American Legion Post
