"A Fatal Fall
Levi Rice, a well known and prominent citizen of Paw Paw township, last Tuesday was the victim of an accident which in all probability will prove fatal. Mr. Rice, who, by the way, is seventy-two years of age, was hauling wood from his farm near Roann, to that town and fell from the top of the load. He was found by parties traveling along the highway and conveyed to his residence. He is badly brused on various parts of his body, and the physicians think that owing to his advanced years he will not recover from the shock. His relatives were sent for immediately after the occurrence of the accident. The family seems to think that the fall was the result of a slight paralytic stroke which renedered Mr. Rice incapable of retaining his seat on the wagon."
