F.J. "Bud" Trainor, 79, of Streator died at 1:30 P.M. Monday, February 9, 2009 at his residence.

Born February 21, 1929 in Streator, he was a son of Omer and Rita (Breen) Trainor. He married Elsie L. Lesak on July 3, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Church in Streator. Elsie survives in Streator.

He is survived by daughters, Linda (Bob) Keith of Streator and Dorothy (Mike) Phillips of Streator; son, Ron (Mollye Sue) Trainor of Streator; grandchildren, Larry Keith, Dawn Thomas, Jerry Aukland, Tera Armstrong, Shawna, Felicia and Chelsey Phillips, Christy Sunken and Brian Trainor; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews and many family members in the surrounding area.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ray, Paul and Tom Trainor.

Bud was born and raised in Streator. He attended St. Mary's grade school and Streator High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.

He worked in his early years as a Butcher. He later started Ar-Best Pest Control in 1972. His family continues to run the business. He also owned and operated Buehler's Market for a brief time.

He currently served on the Board of Directors for Streator Home Building & Loan Association. This year would have marked his 20th anniversary with the bank. Bud enjoyed his time on the Board and working with the people at Streator Home.

Bud was a member of various groups including Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790, AMVETS, Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217, Streator Eagles Club, United Commercial Travelers, The Moose Club and he formerly belonged to the Streator Elks Club.

Bud loved his family and visiting with people. He enjoyed car rides with his wife of 57 years, Elsie. He enjoyed classic cars and owned several. He was a pilot and formerly owned his own plane.

Mass of Christian Burial: Immaculate Conception Church, Streator. Msgr. John J. Prendergast officiate.

Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator. Full military honors conducted by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.
