Catherine "Cappie" Spicer, of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, September 8, 1998, at Westview Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on March 22, 1904, in Jackson, KY, she was the daughter of James and Sarah Spicer. She married Green Spicer in 1924, and he died in 1979.

Surviving are four daughters: Sarah Wyatt of Bedford, IN, Nannie Tharp of Shoals, IN, Eliza Wagoner and Effie Mae Smith, both of Mitchell, IN; five sons: Delbert and Raymond Cecil Spicer, both of Bedford, IN; Lonnie Spicer of Palmyra, IN, Asberry Spicer of Mississippi, and Green Spicer of Mitchell, IN; one brother, Roger Spicer of Jackson, KY; forty-six grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Jesse, Homer and Ollie Spicer; and one brother, Noah Spicer.

She was a homemaker and of Baptist faith.

Services for Catherine Spicer will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow in Knott Cemetery.
