West Side Pioneer Was Buried Sunday
J. O. Eastman, 67 and native of Wisconsin, died at his West Side orchard home last Friday night. Mr. Eastman came to the Hood River valley with his family 38 years ago. He is survived by his widow and the following children: Roy and Archie Eastman, of Hood River, and Mrs. Ivan Scheer, of Kent.
Mr. Eastman was the father of Guy Eastman, one of Hood River's seven war soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice.
Funeral services were held at the Anderson chapel Sunday afternoon, Rev. W. N. Byars officiating. Interment followed at Idlewilde cemetery.
